The Job

As a Room Attendant, you play a vital role in ensuring each guest’s stay is comfortable, clean, and memorable. You take pride in preparing every guestroom with care and precision, maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and presentation. Your attention to detail helps create a welcoming environment that reflects the hotel’s commitment to excellence and leaves a lasting impression on every guest.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and clutter-free work area at all times.
  • Stock housekeeping carts with all necessary supplies and amenities prior to beginning daily assignments.
  • Clean assigned guestrooms thoroughly and efficiently within established time standards, ensuring all rooms meet the hotel’s cleanliness and presentation expectations.
  • Perform all cleaning duties in each guestroom, including but not limited to:
  • Changing bed linens and making beds neatly and according to standards.
  • Vacuuming carpets and moving furniture as needed to ensure complete cleaning.
  • Dusting and polishing all furniture, fixtures, picture frames, lamps, and surfaces.
  • Cleaning mirrors, windows, walls, and other surfaces to maintain a spotless appearance.
  • Sanitizing bathroom areas, including showers/tubs, sinks, toilets, and floors.
  • Replenishing guest amenities such as towels, toiletries, glassware, and writing materials.
  • Emptying all wastebaskets and ensuring proper disposal of garbage and recycling.
  • Ensure all guestrooms are set up to brand standards prior to guest arrival.
  • Report any discrepancies in room status, maintenance issues, or incomplete rooms to the Supervisor promptly.
  • Follow proper Lost & Found procedures for all items recovered in guestrooms.
  • Complete assignment sheets accurately, noting all rooms serviced.
  • Inspect and maintain cleaning equipment in proper working condition; report repair needs or low supply levels to the Supervisor.

 

The above areas of responsibility are not all inclusive and may be amended from time to time.

Who We're Looking For

  • Minimum completion of Grade 10 education
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a cleaning environment, preferably in a hotel setting considered an asset
  • Minimum 1 year of customer service
  • Ability to use sound judgement in day to day activities and decision making
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English, both verbally and in writing 
  • Must be polite, courteous, and customer focused
  • Hardworking, reliable, and a team player
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Must possess the ability to communicate effectively within a diverse team environment
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a muti-cultural environment with co-workers, managers, and guests
  • Ability to work as a team or independently
  • Ability to work days, weekends and holidays
