Head of Health Plan Sales

What it is

We are excited to grow our Sales team with the addition of a Head of Health Plan Sales. This is a key position for 9am Health and will be responsible for building and leading the health plan sales channel by leveraging existing relationships. As an individual contributor, this position will lead the sales cycle end-to-end. Reporting to our VP of Sales, this individual can be located anywhere in the US, with a preference for the San Diego area. Regardless of location, regular travel to our office in Encinitas is a perk of the job.

What you’ll do

  • Utilize past experiences, relationships and market knowledge to drive new business with health plans
  • Lead end-to-end commercial sales from sourcing, to managing the pipeline, to closing deals
  • Build key relationships with health plan partners
  • Be the expert source of knowledge around health plans to drive product marketing
  • Identify opportunity to build out our business development and go-to-market approach within the health plan community
  • Work closely with marketing resources to develop sales collateral
  • Attend industry events to network and generate leads
  • Report on sales activities and pipeline to the executive team


What you’ll need

  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Proven track record of successfully selling in the healthcare industry
  • Deep industry knowledge and connections in healthcare and health plans
  • Highly motivated to drive growth/commercial success
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple work streams
  • Thoughtful, collaborative approach with key stakeholders
  • Ability to travel to Encinitas minimum of once per month (duration of trip is flexible)
  • Ability to travel for client meetings and conferences (roughly 40%)

We offer competitive compensation and benefits, including options for health, vision, and dental plans and 20 vacation days. The base compensation range for this position is $160k-$215k but actual compensation will be determined by experience. Our working model is flexible. Some employees work from home, and some in the office, but we appreciate team members willing to work from and travel to the office as needed.
