Due to our ongoing growth and success, Taylor Hopkinson now seek a competent and ambitious Commercial Manager. The successful candidate will provide effective commercial advice to allow Taylor Hopkinson to achieve its business goals and objective globally and manage the Taylor Hopkinson Commercial process in partnership with international expert partners. This role will act as the primary interface between Management, Sales and Operations and will assist with development of pricing, contract review, customer tenders and proposals. You will also be in integral link co-ordinating/influencing and networking with Commercial Managers in Brunel.

The Role

  • Contribute to management of tenders and client proposals and preparation of the commercial terms therein;
  • Review and coordinate the review and coordinate signing of commercial agreements in accordance with Taylor Hopkinson's Commercial Procedures
  • Maintain up to date legislate understanding of relevant workers compensation schemes and other Taylor Hopkinson global policies to ensure compliance as part of bidding
  • Understanding of Taylor Hopkinson's Risk Management program and Insurances and their application in the business
  • Manage internal relationships with the Global Commercial Team and other regional offices.
  • Assist Business Managers in the tendering process for clients
  • Advise on matters pertaining to contractors terms and conditions
  • Review new contracts and changes to client contracts and project specific guidelines. Ensure any requirements from operational or finance perspective is understood throughout all locations and teams
  • Provide guidance to Account Managers in commercial queries relating to contractors and their clients
  • Assist with financial analysis and feasibility calculations upon billing structures and rate build up sheets for both common law contracts, cross boarder contracts and unionised agreements including any changes in taxation changes
  • Understand and comply with all HSE management plans, systems and objectives
  • Work closely with the Brunel Commercial team
  • Guardian of Contract and Tender Register


  • Proven experience and success in a similar role
  • Strong Analytical Skills, including core understanding and computation around cost accounting (unit cost, variable, fixed)
  • Technical capabilities and sound understanding of Employment Law and international taxation
  • Negotiation Skills – to discuss/explain terms and conditions with clients
  • Ability to assess commercial and contractual risks within Client Agreements
  • Knowledge of dealing with international business issues including foreign tax
  • Change management experience
  • Experience developing, implementing, and improving internal control systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to deliver quality services
  • Ability to work simultaneously on multiple issues and priorities with a calm approach
  • Strong Leadership Ability
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent IT skills including all Microsoft Packages
