JOB TITLE                             ESG Reporting Manager

Whilst this is advertised as a full-time role, we are flexible to the role being part-time.


JOB PURPOSE

 

The ESG Reporting Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting activities within MFG. They are responsible for ensuring accurate and timely reporting of ESG data and performance metrics, as well as guiding MFG’s developing ESG strategy and compliance with the relevant frameworks and regulations.

 

The ESG Reporting Manager collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to drive sustainability initiatives and enhance transparency. There will also be a requirement for the job holder to have the ability to effectively and coherently articulate the strategy externally in support of the development and growth of the Group.

 

 

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

1. ESG Reporting and Compliance:

  • Develop and implement ESG reporting frameworks and methodologies, to ensure MFG’s compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and guidelines such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, TNFD and local reporting requirements. Identify future legislation and regulation, develop strategies for ensuring MFG adheres to new requirements.
  • Collect, analyse, and interpret ESG data, metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to generate comprehensive reports, presentations, and disclosures for internal and external stakeholders.


2. Strategy and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Work closely with senior leadership to define and implement the organization’s ESG strategy, goals, and targets aligned with industry best practices and stakeholder expectations.
  • Engage with internal departments, investors, analysts, and ESG rating agencies to communicate the organization's ESG performance, respond to inquiries, and address concerns.

 

3. ESG Framework Development:

  • Stay abreast of emerging ESG trends, regulations, and reporting frameworks to continuously improve and evolve the organization's ESG reporting and disclosure practices.
  • Provide guidance and support in embedding ESG considerations into decision-making processes, risk assessments, and governance frameworks.

 

WORK CONTEXT

 

The post is based at MFG’s Head Office in St Albans, some business travel is likely to be required. Additional hours may also be required to be worked from time to time, over the contracted working hours, to ensure that the needs of the business are met.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

 

  • Strong knowledge and experience of ESG frameworks, reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools, including Excel, sustainability management software, and ESG data platforms.
  • Familiarity with ESG rating methodologies, benchmarking, and industry-specific ESG issues.
  • Understanding of financial analysis, materiality assessments, and integration of ESG factors into investment decisions.
  • Excellent project management skills to handle multiple reporting initiatives, meet deadlines, and ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to successfully market MFG’s continuing work in support of the transition from a carbon based economy.
