Your role
As part of the Architecture team, and reporting to the Chief Product Officer, you will work collaboratively with other Identity Architects, Business Analysts and Tech Leads and closely with the client and the rest of the delivery team. This is a high impact, high visibility role, that is responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction while promoting technical solutions.
How you are likely to spend your time
- Working closely with clients to understand their needs and listen/understand their problems.
- Translate complex customer requirements into viable solutions and functional architectures, ensuring consistency with requirements and alignment with business objectives.
- Producing architecture diagrams for project solutions.
- Producing high level design documentation to describe project solutions.
- Identifying and assessing impact of non-functional requirements
- Producing process flows, sequence diagrams illustrating system and component interactions.
- Integrating Entra ID with other IAM tools, cloud services and on-premises systems.
- Producing user stories in project backlog.
· Establishing policies, principles and practices for the selection of solution architecture components.
· Managing trade-offs and balancing functional, service quality and systems management requirements. Communicating proposed decisions to stakeholders.
· Coordinating and managing the target architecture across multiple projects or initiatives.
· Maintaining a stable, viable architecture and ensuring consistency of design and adherence to appropriate standards across multiple projects or initiatives.
- At times contributing to backlog refinement, user story breakdown and estimation sessions.
Does this sound like you?
· Your strength is how you actively listen to the client and their requirements to solve problems.
· You have familiarity of working with and deploying in Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Entra, particularly MS Entra ID & ID Governance.
· You have knowledge and understanding of various architectural and cloud design patterns.
· You have knowledge and the ability to work with automation tools, like logic apps.
· You have the ability to analyse a variety of business problems and design suitable technical solutions.
· You are comfortable in communicating with clients and being the expert regarding their technical problem and providing a solution.
· You have the technical understanding to deliver integration solutions in the live environment.
· You understand how to architect a system in Entra/Azure while also being able to justify the reasoning for the design.
· You have experience taking ownership of the full design / architecture of a system.
· You are able to engage with and communicate across all levels and with all stakeholders up to and including Board level.
Can you demonstrate?
· Experience in designing and deploying Microsoft Identity Manager
o Including Sync Service and Portal
o Experience developing custom management agents and sync rules
· Experience with complex Logic Apps integrating with non Microsoft applications, platforms and APIs
· Familiarity with Microsoft Graph API and Web APIs including REST
· Experience with Entra Lifecycle Workflows including custom tasks
· Experience with Azure Data Fabric (Microsoft Exam DP-203), would be a nice to have.
You have the right to work in the UK. IAM is our speciality and our successful team members will be required to pass BPSS and possibly UKSV SC screening.
What you can expect from us
Flexibility
We currently have a team of 50 colleagues, based around the UK and a fantastic office with great facilities, located centrally in Edinburgh.
We treat our colleagues and our contractors as adults and have a flexible approach to how and from where, people work. We do believe that in person connection is important, so our colleagues living in/near Edinburgh are in the office once a week or more. The rest of our colleagues work from the office every couple of weeks or for those based further away, they visit Edinburgh every quarter for our regular social events. These are a great opportunity have some fun and connect in-person with one another!
Given this is a contractor role, it would be helpful to have you within the Edinburgh area and/or capable of coming into the office on a regular basis (1-2 a week) to help accelerate your onboarding and get to know the team and the work we do.
Communication
We have a weekly Good Morning Condatis call and monthly Town halls to keep everyone up to speed with the business. We also have quarterly social events to get together so if you fancy seeing the sights of this wonderful city, now is your chance!
Candidate experience
We aim to take between 1-3 weeks from first touch to offer and for this role, we expect there to be one interview with the hiring manager (Chief Product Owner) and a Solutions Architect. However, we may need to extend this to a two-stage process.
