Join our team! We are seeking experienced and driven Loan Officers to be based in Cape Town and Stellenbosch.

YOUR MISSION

  • Welcome customers to the branch and create a warm, professional first impression that reflects the Bongo Credit brand
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments to understand each customer's financial situation, goals, and affordability
  • Guide customers through the full loan application process, clearly explaining product terms, interest rates, fees, and repayment obligations in plain language
  • Assess customer affordability in line with the National Credit Act (NCA) and Bongo Credit's responsible lending policies
  • Collect and verify all required documentation
  • Capture accurate customer information and application data in internal systems, maintaining complete and compliant records
  • Follow up on pending applications and keep customers informed throughout the approval process
  • Identify opportunities to match customers with additional suitable products or services
  • Achieve individual and branch sales targets while maintaining the highest standards of customer care and compliance
  • Resolve first-level customer queries and complaints professionally, escalating where necessary
  • Uphold all FAIS, NCA, POPIA, FICA, and internal compliance requirements at all times
  • Contribute to a positive branch culture and support colleagues to deliver a consistent customer experience



YOUR PROFILE

  • Experience in personal loans, credit, or financial advisory will be a strong advantage
  • Matric / Grade 12 qualification is essential
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Business, or a related field is advantageous
  • Registration as a Representative under FAIS (or working towards it) is preferred
  • Solid understanding of the National Credit Act, affordability assessment principles, and responsible lending practices
  • Strong numerical literacy and the ability to read and interpret basic financial documents such as payslips and bank statements
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills — able to explain complex financial information in simple, accessible terms
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and data capturing
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset, and the integrity to always put the customer first
  • Comfortable working in a target-driven environment without compromising on compliance or customer care
  • Proficient in MS Office and able to learn new systems quickly
  • Clear credit and criminal record
