We are currently looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Technical Sales Representative to help further grow Maplesoft’s business within the Academic industry in Japan.


Prospect and Connect!


The Technical Sales Representative focuses on generating qualified prospects at post-secondary schools across the country, using email, phone and networking. In this role, you will be on the front lines of our sales process, setting up quality meetings and conducting product demos to build our sales pipeline.


Key Accountabilities

  • Hunt for new opportunities to grow the academic sales pipeline.
  • Identify key decision makers and/or key influencers within an institution.
  • Reach out to prospects by making outbound cold calls and sending emails.
  • Clearly communicate the benefits of our product and how it can help professors and students.
  • Have discovery calls with potential customers and provide product demonstrations.
  • Provide product training to new customers and understand customers technical requirements
  • Nurture and develop leads; build relationships with potential customers, and work through sales qualification process.
  • Work with sales technologies: Salesforce.
  • Provide backup support for our Technical Support team, responding to users’ technical inquiries.
  • Be a part of a fun and energetic team to define, negotiate and close strategic deals.


Key Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in a technical discipline such as engineering or computer science, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to identify business opportunities and gain leads through prospecting.
  • Confident in learning technical solutions and supporting users with technical problems.
  • Target driven, positive team player who enjoys contributing to the team.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Self-starter, entrepreneurial mindset and approach to work
  • Ability to thrive autonomously and with a team
  • Sales experience would be an asset.
