The Role

Over the last 30 years, the company’s ecological practice has developed a strong reputation and proven track record as a leader in the field. The Major Projects Team was established to provide ecological support to high-value, long-term schemes across the country, including large infrastructure projects. We have projects running nationwide, but have new work commencing that means we are especially interested in candidates for roles in the Midlands and the East of England.

 

As Ecological Clerk of Works you’ll spend most of your time on-site ensuring the delivery of projects are compliant with ecological best practice, wildlife legislation and approved protected species method statements.

 

Your regular activities will include:

 

  • Ecological supervision of site contractors.
  • Ecology permitting.
  • Constraints mapping and marking out.
  • Assisting in and completing surveys for multiple species,
  • Data collection and reporting.
  • Post completion monitoring.

Skills and Experience

You will have a background in either field-based ecology or environmental landscaping with a passion for delivering practical ecology.

 

With good interpersonal skills, you will be able to communicate clearly and confidently with clients, contractors, and your peers.

 

Working in sometimes dynamic environments, you will be a self-starter, able to adapt to changing situations and take a pragmatic, solutions-based approach to working with others.

 

Alongside practical field skills, you will be IT literate and confident in using Microsoft Office Applications.

 

A valid CSCS card is desirable.
