Summary

The Community First Co-operative Credit Union invites applications for the role of Compliance Assistant.


The Compliance Assistant will perform a variety of administrative and clerical functions to support the Risk & Compliance Department.

Description

1.      Reviews documents to ensure compliance with AML/CFT Policies, Laws & Regulations

2.      Identifies anomalies and deviations from policies and reports them to their supervisor

3.      Identifies processes and programmes that require amendment to maintain compliance with laws and regulations

4.      Responds to queries and updates Compliance Logs and Registers

5.      Assists and supports their supervisor to ensure that all activities are carried out in compliance with company standards

6.      Makes recommendations for improving internal controls, operating efficiency, the adequacy and accuracy of credit union records and record keeping.

7.      Conducts follow-up for discrepancies identified during evaluations

8.      Prepares, maintains and processes a variety of confidential correspondence, and records

9.      Provides support in the execution of audits by providing data as requested.

10.  Schedules employee training under the direction of their supervisor

11.  Assists in the ongoing training of credit union staff in regulatory compliance and anti-money laundering by identifying common areas of opportunity

12.  Ensures that all required documentation and security requirements are properly in place and followed

13.  Performs other duties as required by the Junior Compliance Officer

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in a business-related field from an accredited institution
  • Three (3) years’ experience in the financial services industry; preferably in AML/CFT/CPF
  • Certification or training in AML/CFT/CPF is essential
  • Effective communication skills, written and verbal.
