Systems Engineer DevOps

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer to join our team. As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient deployment, integration, and maintenance of our software development environment, as well as maintaining the hardware and operating system of the devices included in our flight training solutions. You will work closely with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to design, implement, and maintain our continuous integration and delivery pipelines using GitLab. 

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and implement continuous integration and delivery pipelines using GitLab for Python, Node.js, C++, and C#. 
  • Work closely with developers to ensure that code changes are properly tested, built, and deployed to production. 
  • Collaborate with system administrators to ensure our infrastructure is correctly configured and optimized for our software development needs. 
  • Design the hardware and operating system of our edge devices, which use Linux and Windows. 
  • Develop and maintain tools to automate deployment and monitoring. 
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and other quality assurance activities. 
  • Onboard new developers to our software development environment, including setting up development environments and providing training and support. 
  • Continuously improve our software development process and infrastructure by implementing best practices, identifying bottlenecks, and proposing and implementing solutions. 
  • Staying up to date with industry trends and technologies and making recommendations for improvement. 
  • On-call duty 

YOUR BACKGROUND AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field 
  • At least 3 years of experience in DevOps engineering, software development, or a related field. 
  • Strong knowledge of GitLab 
  • Programming skills in one language: Python, Go, C# or C++ 
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. 
  • Experience maintaining hardware and operating systems, particularly Linux and Windows. 
  • Excellent communication skills in German and English 
  • Upstanding work ethic and excellent organizational skills 
  • Ability to solve problems independently. 


A PLUS WOULD BE:

  • Container Platform Administration Knowledge (Kubernetes or OpenShift) 
  • Familiarity with information security concepts
