Onsite Support Engineer

Summary of Role

As an Onsite Support Engineer at Numata Business IT, you will play a critical role in delivering hands-on technical support to our clients. You’ll be responsible for maintaining optimal system functionality, resolving IT-related issues directly at client sites, and ensuring seamless technology operations. You will serve as the face of Numata’s technical services, embodying our commitment to excellence and customer success.

Key Objectives

  • Provide responsive and effective onsite IT support to clients in line with service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction through proactive communication and reliable problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with remote support teams to deliver consistent, top-tier service.
  • Uphold Numata’s standards and values while representing the company on client premises.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver first-line and second-line technical support for desktops, servers, networks, and cloud systems.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and peripheral equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain client infrastructure, ensuring performance and availability.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate internal teams and follow through until resolution.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work completed, system configurations, and support incidents.
  • Assist with IT projects including rollouts, upgrades, and migrations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders and internal team members.

Knowledge Requirements

  • Strong understanding of Windows desktop and server environments.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Azure.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts (LAN, WAN, VPN, TCP/IP).
  • Experience with common IT service management (ITSM) platforms and ticketing systems.
  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and data protection best practices.

Skills Requirements

  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Customer-focused approach with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Time management and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.

Experience Level Required

  • 2–4 years of experience in a similar IT support or field service role.
  • Experience supporting small to medium-sized business IT environments is preferred.
  • Previous MSP (Managed Service Provider) experience is a strong advantage.

Competency Requirements

  • Technical aptitude across desktop, server, and networking domains.
  • Consistent documentation and reporting practices.
  • Ability to identify recurring issues and recommend long-term solutions.
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices is beneficial.

  • Adaptability to diverse work environments and changing priorities.
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and proactive.
  • High attention to detail and quality of service delivery.

Education Required

  • A+ and N+ certifications (minimum).
  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSA, MS-900, AZ-900) are preferred.
  • ITIL Foundation certification is a plus.
  • Relevant diploma or degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field is desirable.
