Industrial Compliance Officer

As a Technical Product Compliance Officer, you will act as a consultant, collaborating closely with Engineering, R&D, TechDoc, Sales, and Project Management to ensure Conformity and Compliance throughout the product lifecycle. 

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of EU regulations, including CE requirements and other applicable directives.
  • Ensure products meet UL safety standards and certification requirements.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and assess impact on existing and future product lines. 
  • Coordinate product testing with accredited laboratories and certification bodies.
  • Manage technical documentation together with our Technical Documentation Engineer, including declarations of conformity, test reports, and certification submissions.
  • Oversee UL listing processes and maintain ongoing compliance with safety standards. 
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Product Development to integrate compliance requirements into product design and manufacturing processes.
  • Work with Supply Chain teams to ensure component and material compliance throughout the product lifecycle. 
  • Maintain comprehensive compliance documentation systems, including technical files, risk assessments, and regulatory correspondence.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory filings and applications as required. Ensure traceability and version control of all compliance-related documentation. 
  • Monitor market surveillance activities and respond to regulatory inquiries or non-compliance issues.
  • Conduct compliance risk assessments for new products and market entries.
  • Develop corrective action plans when compliance issues are identified. 


YOUR BACKGROUND AND SKILLS:

  • Degree in industrial, mechanical, or electrical engineering or related technical field, additional education as technical writing is a plus. 
  • Solid technical knowledge and understanding of product/process design. 
  • Experience in product compliance as well as understanding of regulatory frameworks. 
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. 
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodology. 
  • Excellent verbal communication and documentation skills in English. 
  • Attention to detail. 
  • Residence in Switzerland (preferably near Zurich) is required.


A PLUS WOULD BE:

 

  • Passion for Aviation 
  • Previous experience in regulated industries.
  • Professional certifications in regulatory affairs or quality management systems.
  • Familiarity with relevant standards, such as ISO 12100, EN ISO 13849, EN 60204-1, NFPA79, CSA C22.2 No. 301, UL 508A and other industry-specific standards. Experience with post-market surveillance and regulatory reporting requirements.
