Duties and Responsibilities

- Provide support to the business in the day-to-day operations of the HR function, advising and coaching Line Managers and employees on policies and procedures, terms and conditions of employment and basic employment law matters.

-  Develop, manage and lead effective personnel recruitment process.

-  Develop, manage and improve personnel development, motivation, remuneration and performance evaluation process.

-  Maintain and control the implementation, development and use of the personnel system.

-   Develop, monitor and improve personnel policies and procedures.

-   Coordinate and ensure internal records of the company personnel.

-  Prepare various reports on planned and achieved results, use of personnel, financial and material resources, etc.

- Advise employees on labour law, job description, assessment, growth and training or conflict situations.

- Follow the requirements of regulatory enactments regulating labour legal relations.

-  Responsible for the preparation and processing of payroll for all employees; review and ensure accuracy of approved timesheets; track and deduct all garnishments and other special payroll deductions.

-  Responsible for the coordination efforts between payroll, Human Resources and Finance departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data (including preparation/distribution of detailed reports, e.g., overtime, leave balances, head count and retirement contribution reports).

-  Ensure that payroll system updates and maintenance are done on a timely manner.



Requirements

- Degree in Human Resources Management, Organizational Psychology or any other related field.

-    2 years experience in payroll administration

-    2-3 years of experience in HR Business Partner role or similar.

-    Knowledge of the Botswana Labour Laws, HR policies & procedures.

-   Excellent skills using MS package – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Internet Explorer.

-  Strong skills using and understanding the flow of transaction in an integrated and automated payroll accounting system, like Sage Pastel.

-    Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.

-  Excellent problem/judgement skills and high level of attention to detail and accuracy .

-    Membership of recognized HR body is an added advantage.
